Coming up in June…………

June 6th is First Friday Art Walk, and this month we're going local again:

We will be screening a sampling of award-winning work from students at Missouri State University featuring short narrative films, animations, music videos, and experimental video. All of these extraordinary pieces were created by Electronic Arts and Media Production students over the past several years.

Many have won awards in national competitions and been screened in film festivals from coast to coast and as far away as Europe and China. Screenings will run continuously, commencing at 6pm.

We will also be showing the work of a local weaver, Alene Miller. Alene took up weaving in 2000 and is a member of the Ozark Mountain Weavers Guild. Arlene's work incorporates local natural materials such as gourds, pine needles and grasses, and she has started growing her own materials to weave with.

June 17th is the inaugural fund-raiser for a new local Charity, Ethiopian Child. Uplifting Humanity Thru Harmony is being held at the Gillioz Theatre on June 17th from 7:00pm, and will feature Alea and Alexa Kilgore. Tickets are $10, and are available from the Gillioz and from Global Fayre.
