Equal Exchange was founded in 1986, and spearheaded the Fair Trade coffee movement. They have been a partner to Global Fayre since we first started at C-Street Market, and have been an invaluable source of help, advice and inspiration. We currently carry a wide range of their coffees, teas, cocoas and chocolate, as well as almonds, cashews and cranberries. __________________________

Paul Katzeff is the founder father of Thanksgiving Coffee and very much a key part of the company today. What we particularly like about Thanksgiving (aside from their great coffee of course!) is that they combine Fair Trade principles with attention to a specific cause. Currently we stock their Gorilla Coffee, which contributes funds to the Diane Fossey Fund, and their Peace Coffee which is a multi faith initiative from Uganda.__________________________

Rishi's mission is to offer the finest garden direct teas of each season, and they won no less than seven First Place awards at the 2008 World Tea Championships. We carry a full selection of their Fair Trade teas, including their sensational Iced Teas. ___________________________

| Divine Chocolate has its roots in the founding of the Kuapa Kooko farmers cooperative in Ghana in the 1990's. With aid from the Body Shop and Twin Trading the farmers set up their own chocolate making company. In 2006 Divine launched in the US, with one third of the US operation still being owned by the Kuapa Kooko cooperative. Watch out for their new flavors coming soon.....strawberry flavored chocolate anyone?! __________________________

Based in Jenin, Palestine, Canaan Fair Trade sells olive oil and other delicacies produced by over 1,700 small farmers organized in informal cooperatives and represented by the Palestine Fair Trade Association (PFTA). They supply bulk as well as finished and packaged olive oil and other goods to Europe, North America and the Middle East. All of their products are offered with a Palestinian Certificate of Origin. A large and growing portion of them are certified Organic. |
